Ruptured Water Pipe causes major damage

Ruptured Water Pipe causes major damage

A frozen water pipe ruptured and caused flooding in this finished basement in Verona, WI.  When a house's water pipes freeze, a 1/8-inch crack in a pipe can expel up to 250 gallons of water a day, causing flooding and structural damage. SERVPRO of Dane County West Professionals removed what was beyond repair in this basement, placed dehumidifiers and air movers throughout the structure to mitigate the moisture before rebuilding and replacing content. SERVPRO of Dane County West Professionals are here to make it “Like it never even happened.”

Recently in Monticello, WI, SERVPRO of Dane County West was called to a local café to mitigate extensive water damage from flood damage caused by the Sugar River overflow.  The café was next door to the river and despite having a 5-foot berm protecting the structure, water unfortunately still got in.  Up to 8 feet of water flooded their business and SERVPRO of Dane County West is diligently working to make it "Like it never even happened."

Toilet leaks can cause extensive water damage to flooring, don’t worry, we are here to help!

Toilet leaks can cause extensive water damage to flooring, don’t worry, we are here to help!

A standard toilet has at least five seals with the potential for leaking. In each case, the solution
is to identify the faulty seal and tighten or replace it. Should the leak go unnoticed for many
days, like in this picture above, it’s important to remove the toilet and replace the water
damaged floor.

When water saturates flooring and sub-flooring for an extensive amount of time,
mold and decay is inevitable, as also seen in this picture.

SERVPRO of Dane County West has
the expertise to assess the degree of the water damage and if the flooring is unsalvageable, we
can rebuild your space and make it “Like it never even happened.”

Using Advanced Industrial Drying and Dehumidification Equipment in Water Damage Restoration

Using Advanced Industrial Drying and Dehumidification Equipment in Water Damage Restoration

Once the excess water has been removed, the floors and walls may appear dry, but a quick inspection will reveal they are wet to the touch. Nearly all building materials, like wood, drywall, and flooring materials, are porous and therefore retain water. After Water Extraction has occurred SERVPRO of Dane County West Professionals use advanced industrial drying and dehumidification equipment as seen in the picture above.

SERVPRO of Dane County West Professionals will use room measurements, temperature, and relative humidity to determine the optimal number of air movers and dehumidifiers to dry your home or business. We’ll carefully monitor the progress using moisture meters until the materials return to acceptable drying goals.

SERVPRO of Dane County West uses Advanced Industrial Equipment for High Efficiency Air Filtration

SERVPRO of Dane County West uses Advanced Industrial Equipment for High Efficiency Air Filtration

SERVPRO of Dane County West uses HEPA Industry-Standard Air Scrubbers to handle indoor air quality that’s needed on most restoration jobs.  Jobs that involve sewage, mold, or fire damage clearly involves significant amounts of particulates and smelly gases – a direct result of the damage itself.  In a water damage restoration environment, the high-velocity airflow needed for drying can stir up particles that have settled in carpet or on other materials.  The HEPA 500 can address indoor air quality quickly and efficiently and help restore any environment to a preloss condition.

SERVPRO of Dane County West uses Advanced Industrial Drying Equipment to Help Save Hardwood Floors

SERVPRO of Dane County West we utilize the latest in drying technologies to restore damaged materials instead of replacing.  This saves everyone time and money.  One great example of this is the floor drying system we use to save hardwood floors after a water loss.  The attached photo is from a home in Madison, WI that had a water loss.  We were able to save their hardwood floors using our floor drying system that utilizes the power of a high-pressure blower that vacuums water vapor right through the surface of the floor. Customer’s are happy that they don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to replace their existing hardwood floors!
