Leaky pipe from dishwasher in Middleton, WI, affects kitchen, and basement
These photos were from a water loss was in Middleton, Wisconsin, that was caused by a dishwasher leak. The water loss occurred from a leak in the line to the dishwasher. This water leak affected the kitchen, living room and bathroom.
As you can see, we used containment to dry the sub-floor from below. Often when leaks occur from broken or faulty pipes in kitchens and bathrooms, these leaks go unnoticed because the homeowners are away at work, sleeping at night, or out of town. When leaks go unnoticed, water seeps past the wood, tile or carpeted flooring and into the sub-floor and basement. Using containment allows us to create a smaller drying chamber which helps create favorable drying conditions in a specifically targeted area rather than trying to dry the entire basement where some areas weren’t affected. Using drying chambers also allows us to add more heat in the chamber to enhance favorable drying conditions.
