According to NBC 15, August 10 is an ALERT DAY - Tracking dangerous heat and a line of severe storms that can produce high winds, power outages and could also produce large hail. MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Tuesday is a FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY due to the potential for dangerous heat and severe weather. Heat index values Tuesday afternoon could be as high as 105 degrees. A line or broken line of strong to severe storms will potentially impact the area Tuesday evening. The storm could produce 70 miles per hour wind gusts. If wind gusts this strong develop, wide-spread tree damage and power outages will be possible. There is an ENHANCED threat of severe weather on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, for Madison, WI, and surrounding areas.
The focus will turn away from the heat and towards the threat of a storm late Tuesday afternoon in Dane County, WI.
